WHAT'S NEW IN ZTREEWIN 1.70/v1.71

   This is a brief description of many of the changes in ZTreeWin since the release of version 1.61.

   This is directed mainly to experienced users of the previous versions who are upgrading. It does not include all the changes made, nor is it intended to show how these features work. (To learn more about many of these new features see the ZTW.HLP file, or press F1 in ZTreeWin).

   While a number of bug fixes to the previous versions are included in this release, those are not described here. The HISTORY.TXT file includes those. Understand, however, that most of the fixes described in the HISTORY.TXT file were for bugs introduced during the development of these versions, and were discovered during the beta testing process. These were not bugs in the released versions.
 

Changes

• Ctrl-F4/Ctrl-Enter - Navigate to nearest tagged file if current file not tagged
• Ctrl-Space (CO-4N=Yes) - Toggle tagged state of current file without navigating
• Make directory - Log current directory first if necessary
• Progress Bar - Elapsed and estimated time calculations now round to hh:mm:ss
• Spell search - First spell letter now navigates to next match
• ZAAP - Publish 'j' in screen status when invoking JFC function
• #ZTTemp - Environment variables set at startup

New Features

Alt-F4 Compare (B/S/G FW)

 Duplicate siZe/Content filters which ignore filename
 File list now left sorted in filtered order

Alt-F5 Open Archive

 Open/Alt-Open - Extract (to ZTMP) then open the current file

Alt-Graft/Prune

 Display "checking for junctions" and allow cancelling

Alt-Hide

 (FW) - Hide/Unhide current file

Alt-Sort

 (FW) - on eXit (keep/lose) - Allow temporary sorting of File Window list
 F8 Split Screen Sort mode - Same/Diff
 Sort order indicator to top-right FW corner - [sp] where s=ascending/S=descending. p=Path on

Alt-Wash

 Clear unused MFT entries on NTFS partitions
 Esc displays confirmation prompt. "F3 Keep temp files" option
 Truncate temp files before deletion to avoid filling protected Recycle-bin
 Writes multiple 4Gb temp files

Alt-ZLog

 Bookmark history saved to ZLog file
 Volume version updated to support Split mode sorting

 Replace mode - Rename Seq(uentially)
 Existing file - Rename Source or Target options

Compare/Alt-Compare (DW) / Alt-F4 Compare (FW)

Copy

 Rename Seq(uentially) option when copying with same name to current directory

 Free-space check skipped for remote target drives

 Support for logging directories in [L]og & [T]ag actions from File Window
 Support for Tagging/Untagging all files in branch (eg. T=X:\Path1\*\Filespec.ext) - see ZLIST.ZL_

Delete (DW)/Alt-Graft/Prune

 Display warning when attempting to operate on junction (reparse-point)

Directory Navigation

 Shift-Up/Down to navigate to the previous/next logged directory.
 Shift-PgUp/PgDn to navigate to the previous/next unlogged directory.

F9 Menu

 REM #ZTTag [-CA|-CO] = Output filenames in ANSI or OEM charsets respectively

JFC

 CO-4T=Yes - Highlight name part only of default target file

Macros

 New Macro directives:
  STOP_IF_DW - Abort macro immediately if ZTreeWin is in the DW
  STOP_IF_FW - Abort macro immediately if ZTreeWin is in the FW

Make directory

 F4 Jump - Set to 'yes' to navigate to newly created directory

New Date

 F5 Mode (set to/adjust) - Adjust timestamp by: [+/-d|m|y][+/-h|n|s][e]

New Command Line Switches

 /API - Use CopyFileEx and MoveFileWithProgress APIs, if supported, for progress reporting and Esc control
 /L2-9 - Log the specified number of directory levels and files at startup
 /SSD - Split Screen Sort mode is Different
 /SSS - Split Screen Sort mode is Same
 /ZJ  - Jump to the new directory created by the Make command

 Support to log paths from environment variables - eg. ZTW %#ZTMyDocuments%

New Configuration Options

 CO-2J - Hide System/Hidden dirs and/or junctions (None/+SH/+J/+SHJ)
 CO-3E - Split Screen Sort mode (Default: Same)
 CO-5A - Search skip movement option only set on initial loading
 CO-5E - Viewer Search hit offset %

Print Directory/File

 Device - Support for environment variables and batch parameters

Rename masks

 :2i001: - Increment by 2, :3d999: - Decrement by 3, etc.
 :dx:_of_:x: - Tagged file count, :d0x:_of_:0x: - Tagged file count-1

Treespec

 F6 Windows folders - List of user profile/system directories

Viewer

 Gather & Hex Edit - Mouse supported added
 Search - Preserve search critera when using Esc from Search menu
 X & Alt-X command-line support
